I used to actively contribute to Wikipedia; I wrote numerous articles
& edited widely.

Then some arrogant mindless little scrote - I think it was User:Yamla
but I could be wrong - accused me of "vandalism" for a very careful &
meticulous page-edit, reverted my changes and left an highly offensive
note on my personal user discussion page threatening to block me. I
think they had been on WP for about 1/8th as long as I had.

Soon after, an entire, some-years-old article, linked to from a number
of others and widely edited, was deleted for being "insufficiently
encyclopaedic".

Since then, WP can, by and large, go screw itself, basically. I
correct the odd typo but I have not written another word for the site
and do not intend ever to do so.

There are thousands of arrogant admins and editors now whose chief
contribution is deleting stuff, reverting changes, throwing away tons
of others' hard work & pissing others off. They seem to see themselves
as the guardians of wisdom and there is a whole incestuous little
community of them, with dozens of tribes, awarding each other
"barnstars" and whatnot.

Fsck the lot of 'em.  I dislike cliques and little groups that don't
welcome outsiders, and when someone accuses a hard-working volunteer
of being a vandal, well, this particular hard-working volunteer quits
on the spot.
