You might be a scholar in English, I am not.

It *is* a metaphor in English. (Probably due to differences in culture) 
We use words like millions to mean large amounts or billions to denote 
even bigger ones.

As I said, since it was a metaphor and not a number, I am not obliged to 
give exact numbers.
