Off-topic, perhaps, but in case someone wants to know:
Comment out DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.SYS in CONFIF.SYS and DOS becomes a
gamer's friend. But leave it there for Windows and SMARTDRV.

And remember to load those mouse and soundcard drivers high! Doom shall
reward your efforts. And boot disks are cheap to make. Just remember
which one was for which game. And for the commonest needs, create a boot
menu reminiscent of GRUB, so the correct AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS
combo is loaded per mood (SimCity vs. Windows vs. Wolfenstein 3D vs. DOS
with loads of free memory).
