FWIW: since a common term in my experience for people who understand
computers and actively enjoy fiddling with them is "techies", then by
simple extension, "non-techies" denotes those who are not like that.
These days, by far the largest part of the computer-using population
are non-techies: they use the computer as a tool to get at the Web and
to play games, mostly, and in business to do work-oriented stuff in
Office and Exchange.
