I'm an American and the word "socialist" is NOT an insult to 
me. However you are correct in that one particular political 
party in the USA considers the term socialism a dirty word. 
Fortunately their numbers are dwindling. Those backward 
thinking folks need to WAKE UP however and realize what the 
rest of the world has known for many years.

In my opinion the USA would be much better off if we had many 
more social programs modeled after some of the other nations 
of the world, to help the PEOPLE of our country as opposed to 
doing what we do now, providing huge tax cuts to wealthy 
corporations that farm all their jobs out of our country 
instead of providing work for the people here. All this 
accomplishes is to further enrich the wealthy and keep the 
middle class and poor down. Helping out only those individuals 
& corporations with enough money to buy political clout has 
been the American way for far too long! The times they are a 
changing though!!!!!! Thank goodness!
