I'm so sorry I opened a bag of worms here on Sounder. Not related to
our list at all.

I might note that my wife of 33 years has been bravely battling cancer
for 3 years. Though the private insurance company has demanded that
her doctors explain what they want, she has never been denied any
treatment. She has cost them a fortune, which I believe she is worth,
but someone else might take issue with. Just brought her home from
the hospital again yesterday, where she was given excellent care. I
am currently unemployed and she is on leave from her work, possibly
for good. The current system is still working for us.

Our system isn't perfect, but it works for most, If the safety net
would just spring for the others, like in Germany, it would solve a
lot of problems for us.

We will always pay more per person for care in the US, because we
demand that our old people get everything done for them until they
die, and we finance lawyers and law suits in a way that would surprise
most of you in other countries, all out of our health care costs.

Sorry again for starting this.
