It's not so much out of place as 'nuts'.

Yeah, right. We see how that has worked out. The financial crisis
is exactly due to individuals pursuing their self-interest. The
fact that the world is rapidly going to hell is due to individuals
pursuing their self-interest

I assume you are talking about Acorn. How does your "Adam Smith
radicalism" jibe with governments doling out money to private
organisations?
