Hee hee! And it never even occurred to me that's what I was doing.

But surely for this to be the case, the thread had to have a point in
the first place?

It's all one to me. I'm not American. I don't even have any interest
in my own politics - they're all liars and frauds in my book. From
over here, American politics is just an amusing sideshow: the
very-right-wing versus the extremely-right-wing, where despite the
theoretical separation of church and state, they all bow the knee to
the hopelessly-insane religious lobby anyway.

Any government that allows paid lobbyists is just a comedy sketch, IMHO.
