Pidgin to skype

Hi,
Saw the recent Pidgin thread. I am rubbish at these things. I'd like to remove 
Skype but have several contacts in it. 
By chance, I discovered that my gmail address is also wired-into that Google 
Talk thingum so I got Pidgin going. Is there any way I can get my Skype 
contacts into Pidgin without them having to do anything special?

(I don't need voice chat, my net sucks like a singularity).
