According to our Firefox maintainer:

  <asac> pitti: rc2 == final. the bits in -proposed is RC2 aka final
  <asac> they did RC3 only for mac issues and didnt even respin the binaries for final

See Alexander's blog post, indicating that it may be possible to do it
on the same day but it depends (of course) on successful verification of
the packages in -proposed:
