Barry Warsaw, would like to thank any and all who supported his bid to
be named as the second annual winner of the Antonio Pizzigati Prize for
Software in the Public Interest.
http://www.pizzigatiprize.org/news/press_releases/
He is the lead developer for Mailman, the mailing list software that drives
a whole lot of mailing lists, including this one, as well as many other
Ubuntu lists. He's working for Canonical these days and is also a local
(Washington DC area) bass guitarist who has been known to put in an
appearance at the Takoma Park Folk Festival, and the DC Blues Society
Blues Festival, among other gigs.
And for those of you who use GPG, and have had your public key signed,
you're probably within six degrees of separation from Barry. If he
hasn't signed yours, you'll probably be able to catch him at PyCon
2008 (http://us.pycon.org/) in Chicago next month, and congratulate
him.
