But back to Yahoo!...
This is even sadder to me than Netscape's demise.
Yahoo! was a pioneer. And there are a *lot* of things they offer
unrelated to search that are excellent. The problem is, there is much
redundancy between MSN and Yahoo! in services so it would really leave a
big hole out there.
Yahoo! started as an Internet directory. There are millions of people
out there who don't even know that. And the directory still exists and
is still quite is much better than Open Directory. One on hand I hope
Microsoft keeps that, on the other hand, seeing the MSN name on it would
make me gag.
BTW, do you use del.icio.us? If this deal goes through it will (at best)
be owned by Microsoft.
