Because Azureus is a difficult monster app, while gnome-bt is simple.

As has been said already in the thread, this really has been discussed
to death and the decision was that all things considered, FF is the best
package for the job in the Ubuntu context. You may agree or disagree,
but it is unlikely that any of us will add anything new to the
discussion. Look up the archives
