This has been a topic of discussion that rears its ugly head every now
and then. IIRC it was decided that ubuntu-users was going to be
reply-to-list because the discussions on that list were "important"
since they frequently dealt with trouble-shooting, and, if one was
trying to follow a thread to solve a problem, it would be very
frustrating (perhaps even show stopping) if the "solution" just
happened to end up in only one person's mail box.
By contrast, sounder is a "sounding board" where miscellaneous
chit-chat occurs, and, frankly, it's not the end of the world if that
happens to end up only in someone's mailbox (oftentimes it would be
even better if it did ;-P!!!!!!!!!!)

Rather than put the onus on everyone (and, those who don't care), why
not put the onus on those who care about whether they get e-mails as
part of a "reply-to-all"?
I just skimmed the post to this thread and it seems Derek's posts do
NOT have the "Reply to all" option! This means that replies to these
posts will ONLY get directed to the list, unless the e-mailer actively
adds Derek's e-mail address!
Derek: What e-mail program/setting do you use so that those who are
concerned about receiving duplicate e-mails can change those
settings/get the right mailer?
Eric.
