Disappointment in 7.04

I have tried installation of 7.04 on two older laptops now with wireless 
cards plugged into slots. I thought the "new" released cd that came with 
an internet magazine would do the trick in a IBM Thinkpad (p3), but it 
still does not find my wireless card. 6.x seems to work fine. Not sure 
what improvement broke the wireless, but it is disappointing. In my 
older dell laptop, I even tried to upgrade from a working 6.x to 7.04, 
but then the wireless disappeared.

Oh, well.
