I'm not panicking either, and have done dist-upgrades on four machines
since, but I'm noticing postings on the mailing list (and heard of
ones on the forum) of people really hosing their machine or
reinstalling from scratch because of this. As someone said, it may be
that years of zero-day exploits and such on Windows has trained people
to jump a bit too high... I was just suggesting that a note in the
mailing list from someone with ubuntu.com in their email address may
help.
