Edgy upgrade bug

Apparently gnome-app-install wants X to be running in order to install.
This has to be considered a bug, as I can't upgrade from a text console.

Setting up gnome-app-install (0.2.11) ...
X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
The application 'update-app-install' lost its connection to the display
localhost:10.0;
most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed
the application.
dpkg: error processing gnome-app-install (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
