I don't agree that it is unacceptable. Open source is all veyr well adn good, 
but not in of itself. In my opinion (and I stress that this is only my 
opinion), open source only brings value when it fosters innovation, or has 
another positive side effect, such as makign computers more accessible to 
those from underpriveleged backgrounds because it doesn't cost anything to 
obtain. I can't offhand think of any advantage at this stage to open sourcing 
Launchpad.
