Did you read what I wrote about _knowledge_ being provided?

Which isn't true in this case (and many other cases BTW), as you can see
from the other replies. DMA isn't enabled by default on a lot of drives
that support it.

Again: if there's a reason to have a certain option, there's a reason to
put it in a GUI.
