Ubuntu in the News: Test of distributions for an old laptop

The Kubuntu Release notes I know mention the amount of disk space needed.
Plus the cds shipped from shipit will have it on the cover

1. He was not able to find any documentation of the minimum requirements

2. Isn't it a bug that the installer fails to check available space?
