Well, then, they'll just have to use proprietary softwares or directly
license the patents for their own use with free if it is a commercial
use. (individuals do not have to endure licensing costs for individual
use of free mp3 encoders, however binaries can not be distributed within
certain countries)
Software patents suck, btw.
