Hell, if it's that simple, how come Synaptic doesn't use it whenever I
ask it to remove a package then ?? :-/

Well it's not a big problem. I mean you use "checkinstall" when you
install from source, so it can integrate with the package management
software. IIRC it makes a deb file, so I guess if it breaks you can just
re-install the deb and it will tell you what dependency went missing.
Maybe it could possibly re-install it automatically, dunno.
Anyway I don't want to open a debate, nor am I competent... I was just
listing what features, as an end user, I would want from a package
management program. I leave the implementation details to the pros ;-)
