New article from O'Reilly on how commercial distributions like Red Hat
and SuSe are trying to "copy" the Ubuntu community model in order to
build community, rather than brand:
http://oreillynet.com/pub/wlg/9330
also posted on Slashdot, with discussion:
http://linux.slashdot.org/linux/06/05/01/110203.shtml
as one poster comments:
"Fedora, OpenSuSE and Freespire are essentially attempts to "reverse
engineer" an Ubuntu type of community from a corporate culture. To bring
"community" on board and retain relevance in the community drivin Linux
world. They cannot attempt to reverse engineer a Debian type of
community in the strict sense because they are all /commercial/
distributions."
