I just had an enormous argument about this on Fedora. I have a FC3 box.
FC expired just before FC5's release, it's timed on when FC5 went into
testing.
The result is a lot of sleepyheads are running unsupported software out
of ignorance (I guess that would happen anyway).
The alternatives are to change configurations to point to different
repos for a short while, or to upgrade to FC4 which has a strictly
limited life.
I'm in the same position here. Wife's box runs Warty, she's allergic to
changes so I do them infrequently. It's Internet connexion is via modem,
updates are painful. The logical upgrade is to the latest release, the
one promised for April.
Why not expire Warty once Dapper is out, instead of before?
