Hello All,
I introduced my girlfriend yesterday to Ubuntu-Live CD from her Notebook
that was running Windows XP. I showed her what Ubuntu get do from email
client to office, games, Internet browsers and graphics programs etc.
The point I was trying to make was, she can do everything in Ubuntu, I
mean everything that she does on XP can be also done in Ubuntu. She was
very impressed until when she looked at the CD-Cover of Ubuntu Breezy .
"Hey there is no black person here on these people" but your OS is
called Ubuntu, I said there is because I never had time to look at
Breezy cd cover, so there was one on Hoary and Warty. I took a CD-cover
had a look at it again in my surprise there was no black person there.

I know this is an African phrase "Ubuntu:" no blacktion in it what so
ever, it is just an African thing, so the White, Coloured and Indian
are taken as Africans, in fact they are Africans but that is debatable,
and that if not for this list but to a political list.

So my question is directed to decision makers of Ubuntu that include the
Chief Whip, why did you have to remove blacks on the cover, they are
Africans and they understand Ubuntu better than anyone(IMHO). Can they
please come back in Dapper, please Mark?. I mean their Africanship is
not debatable(IMHO).

I am black liberal and love everyone else in my Country "South Africa",
I leave with people with different cultures and share with them with
love, so this is not a racist thing, I just wanted to know why a black
was removed from the cover.

Regards,
jongi
