Which is just wrong. The GPL is there to protect your intellectual property.
Ever tought why Microsoft doesn't say anything agains BSD-style licenses?

Companies like Sun, IBM, Novell, HP, ... are investing in FOSS just
because they have too much money? RedHat doesn't make any money? Troll
Tech lost money when releasing Qt under GPL? Sun made OpenOffice and
OpenSolaris FOSS becausdeb they are idealists? Doesn't sound that
convincing for me.

One of the big problems when selling software is to find someone to buy
it. Giving your software away for free and selling support may get you
more money.
