Ah, the League Truly Evil Software, such as for example Pine. :)

(Which I installed yesterday and again noted what a HUGE improvement
'gdebi' is..  It is SO wonderful to read about some software on the web,
check the screen shots, click the download link, and have it install
without hunting through repositories or checking dependencies.)

Repositories are nice to have, but they don't offer reviews or
screenshots..
