Ahhh, thanks Daniel, nothing Ubuntu escapes you, as usual ;-)
I suspect Ubuntu pays you to search the web 24/7 for Ubuntu stuff ;-P
Okay, I read that page. I understand now... it's only for notebooks, and
I must select the "Freedos" OS, then ask specifically for Ubuntu. But
they also say that only a few countries in Europe are being "tested"
with this programme. Apparently France is not one of them, since I can't
see any "Freedos" option in any of their notebook, nothing to be seen
but bloody Windows XP. Well, I was hardly in the market anyway, so no
harm. Hopefully, soon, they will openly list it on their site, next to
Windows, so that the masses that browse the site, can't miss it, and at
least wonder "hey, what's this Linux/Ubuntu" thing they offer as an
alternative to Windows... didn't even know there were an alternative,
that's interesting, let's find out more !! " :o)))
We are now in 2006 (at least here ;-), I am very impatient to see how
much Linux popularity will grow this year, and if PC vendors will take a
step further and advertise it more/better, and offer it on a wide range
of machines. 2006 should be interesting :-)
