Thankfully, all I had to do to get out of vi(m) was close the Gnome
terminal. Then I went back to nano, which is sane.
If I hadn't just been messing about in Gnome terminal, I would have had to
reboot the box to get out of that very silly program.
Why you'd recommend vi to new Windows refugees running a full desktop (in
which gedit/kate/mousepad would be available) or needing nano for emergency
service, I don't know.
