If we were Microsoft, we probably would pay somebody to do us a report
saying that MS Windows was "da best" and then publish links to that.

In this this case, a 3rd party took data from a 4th party and came up with
some results, I doubt the media site had any interest in the results 
other than to generate News (equals page-views, equals revenue).

Since we (you and I) are in the business of pimping the quality of Ubuntu to
anyone that will listen, it's obvious that we'd want to tell all of our
mates about that article.
