Hi there, fellow Linux users/hackers.
My friend got herself a new laptop, and she asked us to help her with
installation, because it was systemless computer. As you may guess, Ubuntu it
was. She love it (at least that what she told me;-) and starts to "get it".
She's currently studing in Holand, Amsterdam and this is the root of my
problem. You see, this laptop has bcm43xx WiFi card. It was "working" in
Poland, with my AP, but it seems to have some problems in Holland. It's very
hard for me to troubleshoot it, and we even did a terminal/iwconfig session.
I'm guessing that guy who setup Netgear router did something stupid (becasue
even when she's hanging from eth cable, DHCP seems to not provide any data,
but she's a smart woman, so she "borrowed" network setting from other
computer.)
If anyone live in Amsterdam and could help me with fixing this WiFi problem
-- please, reply this letter. If you can't help, but you know someone who
can, do me a favor and forward this e-mail.
I'll repay you with a sixpack of Tyskie. Well, you would've to wait a month
or two, but it's worth to wait. ;-) Tyskie was tested on Ubuntu dictator[1],
and made him smile. ;-)
