A couple of observation based on this very unscientific vote:
*) a lot more vote this time (17800 and counting) compared to the vote
in 2002 (1139). I'm guessing a mix of more linux users this time
around, and more users on the internet in general. That or there is a
vote-stacking movement going on that is inflating the number of votes
:)
*) Mandriva/Mandrake is really dropping. In that vote it went down
from 41% in 2002 to 3% in 2006. Then I visited distrowatch for the
time in ages and in the distro stats page
(http://distrowatch.com/stats.php?section=popularity) Suse is now a
solid 2nd behind Ubuntu, with Mandriva between 3rd and 6th and
dropping. Last time I visited that page (early in 2005)
Mandrake/Mandriva was the one at the top or in 2nd position in these
various category.
Ah...archive.org has the distrowatch archive from February 2005
