In the last few hours we passed a somewhat impressing (or
depressing...) level: 10000 open bugs against the Ubuntu distro in
Launchpad (actually 10014 at this moment). It seems it was just
yesterday when we had less than 1000 bugs in Malone when most people
were still using Bugzilla :)
I don't think we have publicly available timeseries of open bugs (Bug
#2633), but from memory we were at 9500 open bugs in mid March, then
at 9700 at the end of March at the time of the creation of the Bug
Squad team. Then in early April there was a impressive number of
people solving and triaging bugs (both community and developers) so we
relatively quickly went down to 9200. But it has been a losing battle
once again since.
And my impression is that there has been quite a lot of new bug
reports in the last week corresponding to the release of Dapper Beta,
more than usual. I'm guessing that we are having a lot of people
testing the new version and filing bugs about their problems with
Dapper, and that made an impact in the number of reports we have
currently open.
So that was the news from the Ubuntu bugs front :)
