Linux would certainly be an easier sell if Microsoft ever actually
cracks down on piracy! Very strong copy protection is already available
for software, they could easily make piracy impossible if they wanted
to.
I think they turn a blind eye because in the long run it increases their
user base. MS is already insanely profitable given rampant piracy,
they'd be stupid to rock the boat.
