I always understood it as a place for *Ubuntu related* posts that are
not technical help/support questions.  So for me that means specifically
issues relating to 'advocacy', 'politics' (where it affects
Ubuntu/Linux/Floss), 'the people (who could be) using Ubuntu' and all
that. 

Indeed the Sounder list is picking up, that's good in my book: Ubuntu
generates discussion.  I CAN totally see why Jeff would raise an eyebrow
at some of the posts, but really whats needed then is to create a more
private list for people actually seriously involved with Ubuntu, plus
perhaps some VERY senior, serious users, etc, discussing the direction
of Ubuntu.  (I wouldn't expect to be invited to that one. :D

Of course.  It would be sensible to draw the line at things that have
*completely* nothing to do with Linux or computers even.  But posting a
link to some interesting article on Linux in general, then discuss
further how this relates to Ubuntu is fine, IMHO.
