According to the web site of the university
(http://www1.umn.edu/twincities/01_abt_gen_tuit.php), there were 54,929
undergrad and graduates students enrolled at the University of Minnesota
in the fall of 2004. So that total of $2.7 million to purchase licenses
of Microsoft Office and Windows XP Pro for each registered student turns
out to be around 49$ per student.
