For testing today, we turned to IBM/Lenovo for their mid-range ThinkPad
R52 laptop [with] ATI RADEON X300 64MB (dedicated) [graphics.]

Excellent news. This is same laptop that Canonical have on loan to me for
testing (and which I'm using now). There is one slight difference, in the
graphics hardware. The model they tested is the other sub-variation of the
R52 which uses ATI Radeon graphics, rather than the i915 GMA 900 (Graphics
Media Accelerator 900 in Intel marketing speak) one this one.

The only things remaining unfinished in Breezy are going to be the S-Video
out [0], the hard disk protection/accelerometer[1]. This laptop is very
close to having 100% support with Hibernate and Standby both working out of
the box.

I think Dapper Drake (Ubuntu 6.04) is going to come at just the right moment
when the magical laptop bits that may only be 95% complete for Breezy in
Breezy should be finished off and polished around the edges for Dapper.
