Just for the record, I'm liking this line of conversation. There's so
many acronyms and buzzwords flying around that they're hard to keep
track of. Perhaps I need to join an X Dev mailing list for tips, but
it'd be nice to hear about some performance tips that the average joe
can try out. I have two <10 year old cards to experiment with (ATI
Radeon 7500 and NVidia GeForce 5500). I'm using Breezy now and the
binary drivers only seem to work occasionally right now, but I can't
say I've specifically tried "Composite with xcompmgr -a" (usually I
throw a drop shadown on for good measure), and I have no idea how to
turn on or enable EXA, although the articles I've read about it look
interesting.
Anyway, keep the tips coming! I'd be happy to add them to the wiki. :o)
Thanks!
