since I was asked about it in private, here is the official press

I have no idea what is the current situation for the Tamil language in
Ubuntu, but on the 2nd web site  they seem to provide for Linux some
open sourced fonts, Firefox, OO.org, and an e-mail software (Columba),
all for the Tamil language.  Maybe some of this could be of use for
Ubuntu?
