"Operating system vendors were given two months notice before a
serious security flaw was made public but some have yet to resolve the
issue, a security researcher has claimed."

It seems Ubuntu is one of only 2 Linux vendorx (the other one being
SCO) to have formally responded to  that vulnerability (Ubuntu
Security Notice USN-131-1).
