Looking at Knoppix 3.8

At the Cebit fair, a new Knoppix CD was distributed. I cannot find
the ISO image on the net, so I put it on
http://people.ubuntu.com/~doko/tmp/k38/ or on chinstrap:~doko

highlights are unionfs, a file system mounted rw over the ro file system
on the CD, so you can install additional packages, change configs, etc.
many options to manually configure hardware.

however, doesn't get the screen dimensions on LCD displays correctly (or
doesn't attempt it).
