Folks, I have the downloaded "hoary-" on hdb7 and I get to the login
screen. I type in my user name <bob>, it jumps to the password and I
type in <*********> after a looooong time it returns to the login screen
with the message, wrong username or password. I logged in on the
emergency or whatever it is called to change my passwd. Which it does.
Then, I try to change to su- with the changed passwd and it says wrong
passwd. I have the same set-up on hdb8. logged in went to root ran
"fsck -f /dev/hdb7" and I get a message that everything is OK. I even
tried "fsck -t ext3 -va /dev/hdb7". Again says it's OK. I can mount
-t ext3 /dev/hdb7 /mnt, cd into /dev/hdb7, which it seems to do? I've
gonr through Running Linux and Linux Pocket Guide, but can't come up
with anythin that helps. Any help will be greatly appreciate.
Bob
