Don't be.

You shouldn't take it too hard. The LOL bit makes it sounds like a
joke or at least like they're not taking it too seriously.

But even if they are serious, we should realize that Ubuntu isn't
everything to everybody. That fact that there are already different
flavors (Kubuntu and edUbuntu plus some outside derivatives) is
testemenant to the fact that one size simply does not fit all. And
that's OK. No project of any sort will ever be loved by all -- there
are always detractors even if they're only detracting to be
contrarians.

Let's just focus on building the best distribution and community we
can. We should listen to crticism when it's constructive and ignore it
when it's not. We should focus on keeping the door open for
derivatives because not everybody is going to be happy with any set of
defaults.

If we stay committed to our principles, to our users, to the
technology, and to ourselves, we will build both a tool and community
that is compelling to the vast majority of people. Of course, we'll
also find that this effort is, in itself, a reward and that popularity
is just the fortunate side effect of doing what was right. :)
