Perhaps you can recruit someone from the Lunar Linux community ;-) ?

And btw, while googling for material to post a more funny response than
the above, i came across the Artemis Project:
http://www.asi.org
http://www.asi.org/adb/

They seem to be quite serious about establishing "a permanent,
self-supporting community on the Moon", and have put up a lot of
information about what would be needed. I think Ubuntu/Edubuntu would
really fit perfectly in there ;-)

"Education

A thriving lunar community must provide for the education of its
citizens. Our new world in the moon will have have unique needs for
education, unique problems, and unique opportunities. It will be a long
time before citizens of the moon can afford the bureaucratic
institutions that dominate education on Earth, so we must discover
alternative methods for teaching both the young and the adults about the
universe they live in."
