Which locale are you using ? Looks like you are facing Thom's problem
with en_GB locale which has been fixed yesterday. Please try to update
gconf2 to the current version (and restart gconfd-2 with a killall
gconfd-2) to check if that fixes the issue.

nautilus-cd-burn (burn:// in nautilus, or Places -> CD Creator in the
menu).
