Brand new machine: AMD64 on an Asus A8V deluxe motherboard. Went for
default install, accepted defaults all over.

All went very well on first boot

Second boot / further config: problems with:

 * keyboard layout broken; error message flashed past when I chose
   "select keymap from arch" and I'm left with a US keyboard layout.

 * the Marvell on-board LAN (sk98lin module) wasn't detected, so I
   didn't get a network setup.

 * X configured video fine, but didn't find my PS/2 mouse

 * Debug artwork!

It appears to have found all the onboard USB, audio etc. goodies, but
they're a little difficult to play with if X is non-functional. I'll
probe further tomorrow.
