Desktop usability: how to unmount devices?

Can we get this right for Warty? Would be wonderful, but time is very, 
very tight.

This one I like best. It should be a small notification icon, clicking 
it creates a menu of all the possible unmounts.... select the one to 
unmount and voila. If that means no devices are then mounted, the 
notification icon disappears. Could be a GVM notification icon, if GVM 
is running in the background anyway and knows what it mounted in the past.
