Hello All,
I installed WinXP on /dev/hda1(120-GB Maxtor 6Y080L0) and install
Linux(Ubuntu) on /dev/hdb1(120-GB Maxtor 6Y080L0), problem was, just
before Ubuntu reboot for stage-2 of installation it asked me whether I
wanted to install Grub(I hope it was lilo) on MBR(Master Boot Record)
cause it said that it detected either (W2k, XP, or winnt), which is
great-news but if I saw yes, it damages my MBR on /dev/hda1(Windows) and
Grub won't boot, with a message like installing Grub stage 1.5 ...please
wait.*for ages*, it hangs there. If I say "no please put it Grub
on /dev/hdb1"(Ubuntu-partition), then Windows rules(mean it boot on
windows straight away). I decided to install Ubuntu separately with i.e
disconnecting(unplugging) /dev/hda1(Windows) and I tried this trick:

1. Plug back the two disks, Booted on Linux with knoppix 3.6 , mounted
the windows partion on /mnt/hda1
2. Copied the boot loader across, with " #dd if=/dev/hda1
of=/mnt/hda1/linux.boot bs=512 count=1 "
3. Booted on windows edited the boot.ini file and adding this line at
the end of file
                -> C:\linux.boot "Ubuntu Linux".

4. reboot windows and I got 2 boot options, Windows one works fine when
I choose Ubuntu Linux, I got only one word "Grub" and it hangs.

Please any help or pointed will be appreciated, this is day two on this
easy job

cheers
jongi
