Hi everybody,
last night I uploaded another version of X that should fix several
autodetection problems. Mostly related to the missing Vert/Horiz syncs.

I would be really glad if people can perform the following test for me.
(Running the following commands in sequence should work almost for
everybody)

# logout from X
/etc/init.d/gdm stop
# (or equivalent if you use another login manager)
apt-get update
cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.backup
apt-get --purge remove xserver-xfree86
rm -f /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
apt-get upgrade
# (it should pull in all the new X packages other than the server)
apt-get install discover1 mdetect xresprobe laptop-detect
# we need to be sure we are using the last versions.
apt-get install xserver-xfree86

Please take notes of how many questions you will be asked and which ones.
Compare your previous working config with the new one. Try to start gdm or
X to test if it works.

If it doesn't work please send to Daniel and me the following information:

lspci -n

discover --disable=parallel,serial --format="%S\t%D\n" video

xresprobe <driver>

/var/log/XFree86.0.log

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.backup

Please add any note you think can be useful for us.

Thanks
Fabio
