I've just looked on this. In fact the applet crash if ~/.Trash doesn't
exist and this dir is create by nautilus when you put something in the
trash for the first time. BTW I'll have a look to fix soon.
Could you just confirm that it works after a "mkdir ~/.Trash" ?
